Leeds University Be Curious festival returns

Have you ever wondered what happens in a University? Ever been curious about the research done at the University of Leeds and what relevance it has to you and to the Leeds and Yorkshire area? Be Curious 2017 will be held at the University of Leeds, Parkinson building on Saturday 25 March 2017, 10am - 4pm so come along and find out.

This exciting, interactive event is free and suitable for everyone, of all age groups and families with an interest in Leeds and Yorkshire. Parkinson Court will be filled with a range of stalls allowing everyone to ‘have a go’. These will include:

  • Activities to demonstrate new strategies to understand and prevent foot-and-mouth disease in Yorkshire.
  • ‘Wetropolis’ - a live demonstration showing how extreme rainfall events caused floods in Yorkshire.
  • Find out what ‘cryptography’ is all about; learn how to create a secret message and how this is used to protect important information. You can even take home your own personal decoder.
